Bob Saget’s Hump Day Unfiltered was an event to remember filled with silly and slightly irreverent jokes, funny stories, and what he deemed “narcissistic trivia” about his personal life and career. The event offered comedic relief in a way that felt like a casual conversation with an old friend, who just so happens to be the one and only Danny Tanner from Full House.
Saget’s love and passion for comedy stems from his own experiences with loss, where humor has provided him with respite and he strives to offer the same to others. Saget explained that a rewarding aspect of being a comedian is “when something breaks the ice and you can get a smile out of someone who’s going through the worst time in their life.” Backstage after the event, Saget got to know some fans who revealed they also use humor as a way to get through tough times, such as two fans named Lance and Joe who shared their love for open mic comedy nights with Bob.
Saget put his fans’ knowledge of his life to the test during the Bob Saget Trivia Game, and winners earned a personalized voicemail from America’s Favorite Dad himself. He even pulled trivia winners and other fans onto the livestream stage with him to share heartwarming stories and honest dialogue about his experience in the world of comedy, dream guests on his podcast, and his connection to The Scleroderma Research Foundation.
After losing sister to Scleroderma, Saget became a board member of the organization with the goal of playing a part in curing the disease. According to Saget, the organization has raised over $50 million for research and testing over a 30-year period.
